Background: Created by Azriel in 1387, Shadow has always been his right-hand man until it was known that Shadow's lover, Gwendolyn, was Azriel's life partner. Shadow became Azriel's enemy up until his last battle where Azriel put an end to Shadow's goal and life.  

Much like the other character from "The Nexus" Shadow was based off another friend. I felt he would make a good rival for Azriel's character.
